Disaster
Drills and Exercises
Drills
and exercises are an integral part of testing and refining
the national response strategy that has been put into place
to assist Federal, state, and local efforts in the event of
an emergency and/or disaster.
The
Kidney Community Emergency Response (KCER) Coalition executes
an annual disaster exercise, or mock drill. KCER Coalition
Response Team members participate in training and testing
their preparedness and response activities and use these exercises
to advance KCER's disaster plans.
The
KCER Exercise is targeted toward KCER Coalition members and
Response Teams. These practice activities ensure that the
Coalition can support CMS goals and the ESRD Network program.
2009
KCER Exercise
The
2009 KCER Exercise
is an orientation exercise to provide an overview of KCER's
response duties and the process of KCER activation, as well
as volunteers' roles and responsibilities. KCER Response Teams,
ESRD Networks, CMS, providers, and patient organizations are
welcome to participate in order to gain a better understanding
of KCER and the types of technical assistance available. Time
will be available at the end of the orientation for questions.
